Steve began working at Towerpoint Wealth in January of 2018, focusing on Towerpoint Wealth’s tax planning platform and also working closely with Towerpoint clients in developing, implementing, and monitoring their customized investment strategies and overall wealth management plans.
As a member of the firm’s tax and financial planning committees, Steve specifically advises clients on a myriad of tax planning issues, prepares internal and external tax content and recommendations, and works closely with clients’ tax professionals to ensure a conscious integration of portfolio management and tax minimization. On the financial planning side, he develops and prepares detailed financial and retirement plans to help clients achieve their goals.
Steve obtained his CPA or Certified Public Accountant license from the state of California in 2012, and also earned his CFP® or Certified Financial Planner designation in 2016. In addition to maintaining both his CPA and CFP®, Steve passed the Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examination in 2015 (the Series 65 examination) to become a Uniform Investment Advisor.
Steve began his career as a tax consultant for Deloitte in 2010, ultimately advancing to a senior consultant position within the firm. Having always had a passion for investing and with a desire to continue to work directly with individuals, Steve’s career transitioned to wealth management in 2013.
Steve is originally from the Bay Area. He attended the University of California, Davis where he graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a minor in Managerial Economics. He also completed the Certificate of Advanced Accounting Proficiency through Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business in 2010.
In his free time, Steve enjoys adventuring in the outdoors (backpacking and hiking are his favorites), attending sporting events, playing guitar, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.
